About

The name of our company, Mosaïc, refers to the rich diversity and intricate blend of different elements that contribute to the creation of a unique wine experience we strive to provide. As in the art world, where a mosaic is composed of numerous small pieces that together form a larger picture, a wine mosaic encompasses the variety of grape varietals, terroirs, winemaking techniques, and cultural influences that come together to produce a particular wine or collection of wines.

We would describe our portfolio as a “mosaic of wine experiences”. Each carefully selected wine adds its distinct characteristic, culture, history, etc. resulting in a complex and multifaceted tasting experience. A wine blend itself can also be seen as a mosaic, where each grape variety contributes its unique traits to the overall composition, much like the individual tiles in an artwork.

Our spirited team of oenophiles is a delightful tapestry of personalities and backgrounds, hailing from the sun-drenched vineyards of France, the rugged terrains of South Africa, the vibrant bodegas of Spain, the towering Andean peaks, the rolling hills of Portugal, the ancient vines of Greece, the picturesque landscapes of Italy, the refined estates of Germany, and the eclectic cellars of the United States.

Our Story

Together, we are on a mission to bring the joy of a good bottle (or two or three) to you, celebrating the stories, cultures, and terroirs that make each wine unique. Our passion for wine knows no borders, and our small but mighty state is the perfect launching pad for our global grape adventures. Whether you’re a seasoned connoisseur or just starting your journey into the world of wine, Mosaïc’s team is here to guide you through a world of exquisite flavors, one pour at a time.

Pascal Schildt – Cellar Savant

Pascal, born with a corkscrew in hand, hails from the vibrant vineyards of South Africa, where he developed an early appreciation for the finer things in life—like a good bottle of wine. He honed his palate and knowledge in the charming town of Beaune, the heart of Burgundy, where he learned to navigate wine cellars with the finesse of a sommelier. It seems wine runs in the family, thanks to a great-grandfather who was a wine merchant in Bordeaux, undoubtedly passing down some fermented genes. Now, Pascal calls the USA home, where he lives with his wonderful wife and two energetic boys who, thankfully, prefer grape juice to grand cru (for now).

Maxime Omer – Warehouse Wizard

Max Omer, a Frenchy with a zest for business, gourmet food, and fine wine, arrived in Rhode Island over ten years ago. He joined his wife’s family farm with dreams of combining his passions into one. Since then, Max has become a familiar face in the local wine scene, charming everyone with his French flair and tales of goat herding. Whether he’s discussing the intricacies of a vintage Bordeaux, how to shuck an oyster the french way or the health benefits of regularly playing petanque, Max seamlessly blends the sophisticated with the pastoral, proving that you can be both a wine aficionado and a bon vivant.

Tanner Schmucker – Vintage Explorer

Straight out of Ohio with energy to spare, Tanner brings a fresh passion for the fermented grape to our Mosaic family. His journey includes living and studying in China, where he developed an impressive knowledge of tea traditions and built a collection of aged puers that rivals his wine library. He’s the perfect blend of global flair and Midwestern charm—always ready to toast to good taste.

Camille Dumont – Vino Virtuoso

Camille, the quintessential French-American blend, grew up amidst the clam chowder and ocean breeze of Rhode Island but spent every holiday savoring the crème fraîche and cider of Normandy with her bon vivant family. With a love for both adventure and viniculture, she spent a decade cycling through Europe’s most picturesque vineyards. Add a few years in her trusty 2CV and you could say she’s made a perfect Mosaic of her experiences in Europe. In 2015 Camille returned to the States, where she channeled her passion into launching a couple of wine businesses, bringing a touch of European flair to American soil.

Jesse Yelle – Grape Guru

Jesse Yelle, a proud daughter of the lush hills of Colombia, ventured to the United States in search of her destiny. Armed with a background in microbiology and a fascination with fermentation, she’s been blending her scientific knowledge with her love for the grape. Her career in hospitality flourished in Nantucket and Rhode Island, where she balanced managing wine lists with her strength training expertise. When she’s not helping others achieve their health goals as a fitness coach, she’s exploring the complexities of wine and all it has to offer. All while enjoying family life with her husband, daughter, and their French Bulldog, Sophie.

Thibault Poisson – Vino Piranha

Thibault grew up in the lush countryside of Normandie, surrounded by his big, lively family where he cultivated a love for adventure. In his 20s he discovered the world of wine alongside his buddy Pascal in the picturesque vineyards of Beaune, where they swapped tales and tasted vintages. Armed with his new wine knowledge and charmingly poor English, Thibault set off for Houston, where he spent four years trying to explain terroir to Texans. Now, he’s a globetrotting wine exporter, spreading the joy of fantastic French wines to connoisseurs and novices alike around the world, one delightful bottle at a time.

Christophe Chapillon – Hidden Maestro

Christophe, a Frenchman hailing from the scenic Loire Valley, had his world turned upside down when he fell head over heels for a spirited Spanish woman. Following his heart—and her—to the vibrant city of Zaragoza, Spain. In 2006, inspired by his uncle’s winemaking legacy in the Loire, Christophe embarked on his own winemaking journey. With the expertise of Cesar Langa, owner of the oldest family estate in Aragon, he launched the Chapillon brand. This line features modern, unique wines that stand out from the typical local offerings, blending classic Spanish styles with a distinct French flair.
